Spy Pond Closed June 30

Spy Pond will be chemically treated with a USEPA/MA registered herbicide to control invasive and nuisance aquatic vegetation on Tuesday, June 30. The pond will be closed to all water uses (including boating, fishing, and swimming) on that day only.  In addition, water from the pond cannot be used for drinking, irrigation (i.e.; watering of lawns, shrubs or plants of any kind) or watering of livestock. Pets or wildlife that may drink the pond water will not be harmed.  These water use restrictions will be outlined and the pond shoreline posted with printed signs, prior to treatment. Independence Day Celebration Saturday, July 4th

On July 4, Arlington will celebrate America’s birthday at Robbins Farm Park. There will be musical entertainment from the John Penny Band (starting at 7:00), refreshments, and the Boston Pops Orchestra and Fireworks on the giant screen (fireworks start at 10:30). Arlington Recreation 2nd Annual Golf Tournament

Arlington Recreation is having its 2nd annual golf tournament at Hillview Country Club in North Reading, Monday September 28th. The tournament is open to the public and will honor those who have made significant contributions to the Arlington Community as well as raise funds to help keep Arlington Recreation’s goal of offering quality programming at reasonable costs.
